    More Than Words by @zackshahpoet

Zack Shah took me on the roller-coaster ride of love and breakup. Those lonely nights after breaking up. There were days where you blamed yourself, there were nights where you blamed your other half, there were times when you felt so loved and there were moments you felt betrayed.

Such a beautiful book with flawlessly written poems. It is indeed, ‘More Than Words’.. He has brilliantly illustrated all the emotions and to be honest, it left me wondering, if anyone ever loved me that way.

Thank you this amazing book! @penwingspublishing

A cover of a book says a lot about the tale itself. I always judge a book by its cover and it has served me well through the years. It is the poetic artistic side of a cover art that speaks for the book. More than Words has a stunning watercolour cover than is more than paint itself. Zack cleverly took a poem he wrote about roses and used it as his book cover symbolising that with a bed of roses he cradles his poetry book in the centre, to wrap me ’round, in case I feel alone. IN CASE THE READERS FEEL ALONE! Absolutely brilliant! The poem is called Creature Comforts.

    A bed of roses
    made for me,
a nest to call my own.

    Loving words
    as warm as a fire,
to melt a heart of stone.

    A pair of arms
    to wrap me ’round,
    in case I feel alone.

    Oh, how wonderful
    it would be to have,
    these things I’ve never known.

His poems are divided into 3 sections:

Sweet Nothings = it is NOT nothings, I flew through his tender words of love with my heart buried underneath the black & white pages

Pretty Lies= this section of the book is mostly sad poems about heartbreak, feeling lonely and making mistakes but getting back up again on your own. It is beautiful.

Love Story= it’s about falling down a rabbit hole & ending up in places you’ve never dreamt you’ll go to like Neverland. This part of the book showcase Zack’s talent for writing whimsical content and his artistic mind for create daydreams of love.

I highly recommend this book! It is a book that I’ve been waiting to read for a long time. I always walk past this in popular and I never brought it to the cashier until the fateful day at Bookalicious (psst, it came home with me!). Finished it in one sitting! My heart is full, the kind of full that can only be filled when you’ve read something with enough weight to quench the bibliophile hunger. Very excited to read more from this author. Also, did I mention that his most of his poems rhymes??? It is undoubtedly More Than Words 💖

When I was reading this book, I was in such a hard place; I was betrayed by my friend and lost my love. I was in a state of shock and felt empty. Many people would think it’s because I lost my love, but it’s more towards losing my friend. Zack Shah’s book revolves around the theme of love and heartbreaks, and the collection of poetry really hits home. He approached the theme with such precision, accuracy, and elegancy that it felt like I’m not reading the typical heartbreak poetry. The three sections in the book are Sweet Nothings, Pretty Lies, and Love Story. I have some personal favorites, but I’d rather not disclose them as to not give any spoilers. The poems were written with rhythm and rhyme, which further makes me regard them as magnificent. Some of the poems need some deciphering but some are also easy to understand. I would recommend this to the general public who takes up reading as a pastime. The collection of poetry by Zack Shah really made me feel seen, and a little less lonely considering the trauma that I’ve been through. In a way, this book saves my life.
